James Robertshaw expands into a new production facility after 150 years!

In its 150 year history, internal and external solar shading manufacturer, James Robertshaw, has occupied several different factory premises within the Greater Manchester area. However, the last 47 years has seen the Company occupying a Victorian Spinning Mill in Farnworth, near Bolton.

In celebration of its 150 year anniversary and to accommodate the changing needs of the business, James Robertshaw has relocated to a modern industrial estate in close proximity to Bolton Wanderers football stadium in Lostock, Bolton. With both large modern offices and training facilities, James Robertshaw is on course to maintain commitment to training and supporting its corporate (Trade / Shade Industry, Commercial, Contract) clients. In addition the new premises will provide the opportunity to showcase their innovative environmentally sustainable products to potential prospects in the building design sector.

The new premises will ensure even leaner production processes are followed. The Company is also embarking on ISO 9001/14001 and is committed to environmental sustainability. In fact 90% of all waste has been recycled in the transition from Albion Mill to Unit 2a Lostock Industrial Estate with many local community resource centres benefiting from discontinued fabrics and components.

Managing Director, Nigel Sharrock, reflected on leaving Albion Mill after 33 years “this is the start of a new era in the Company’s history, looking back with fond memories but also excited to face the new challenges ahead!”

In 2011, James Robertshaw will host a day of celebration with an opportunity to meet the team and revisit products and services.

Snow Joke!

We have endured a lot of snow this winter, and as a result clients are requiring awnings that can ‘handle’ snow without the risk of damage to the awning system, the awning collapsing due to the weight of the snow or even a system that can melt snow. Do those products exist?
